Soil : Infertile,acid,sandy surfaced soils,onto more alkaline soils

Establishment : By seeds

Seed rate : 4 - 6 kg/ha

Fertilizer : Application of 10-20 kg phosphorus/ha at planting and very 2 or 3 years after establishment

Cuts : 2-3 cuts per season

Green Fodder Yield : 25 - 30 t/ha in 3 cuts

Nutritive value : Crude protein 17 - 24 % and digestibility 60 - 65 %
