Soil types : Well drained soil including low to medium soil fertility

Establishment : By seeds or root slips

Seed rate : 2-3 kg/ha or 40,000 root slips/ha at 50 cm x 50 cm spacing

Fertilizer : Necessary on infertile soils,use 50 kg nitrogen and 20 - 40 kg phosphorus/ha

Cuts : First cut after 45 - 50 days,5 - 6 cuts per year

Green fodder yield : 130 - 150 t/ha

Nutritive value : Crude protein 6 - 25 % and digestibility 64%
